Commercial Baking
Contest Menu: Best Ever Pastry Shell, Danish Kringle, Orange Raisin Scones Decorated cake.
Contestants will need to bring their own cake decorating supplies, including small spatulas for spreading frosting, It would help greatly if they bring their own rubber spatulas.
Cosmetology
The contestants will not need Clippers or rollers for the contest. We will not be doing a man's haircut.
Dress Code: White Shirt, black slacks, black shoes.
Culinary Arts
Menu will be: Tomato Basil Soup, Tarragon Chicken in Light Mushroom Sauce Cashew Rice Pilaf.
Dress code: White shirt/ Culinary shirt, Culinary pants or black pants. Closed black shoes. Appropriate head cover.
Diesel Technology
April 8th at the Gillette College Tech Center 7:00 PM --Written exam.
April 9th - Gillette College Tech Center 8:00 am - Contest start time -- be early.
Gillette College will provide all of the tools necessary. Contestants only need to have leather shoes, and Safety glasses. The Technical committee is following the National venue for Diesel Technology pretty closely.
Technical Drafting
Software: The computers in EI 104 feature SolidWorks 2010, Inventor 2011 and AutoCad 2011. You may bring your own laptop with any 3D modeling software (SolidEdge, Pro/E, etc.) capable of producing solid models and drawings. If you plan to use your own computer, you must install the driver for a HP Color Laser Jet 5500 PCL6 prior to the competition. Please be prepared to print on 8.5 x 11 (A) and 11x17 (B) paper. You can test the function of the printer and your computer during the setup time.
Welding
Oral Interview Question: Why did you chose welding technology as a major area of instruction in your education plan? How will you use it as a career level skill?
Welding Fabrication
Equipment and Materials: Teams are encouraged to bring their own hand-held grinders for preparing the material. We will have a few on hand just in case. All other power tools will be supplied by the technical committee. Teams are encouraged to bring hand measuring tools for working with pipe up to 16" in diameter. Each contestant must turn in a resumes prior to receiving their individual exam. A written team exam will take the place of the 3-5 minute presentation.
