How to register for the Wyoming State Competitions using the online system
DEADLINE DATE: MARCH 26, 2010
Fee: 55.50 each person
It is imperative that you have your students registered for the state
competition by the March 26th deadline date. We are on a strict time-line
for ordering shirts and other supplies to have them delivered by our competition
date. We are also having a meeting with the contest chairs and want to be
able to provide them with as accurate numbers as possible.
The following steps will guide you through the on-line registration
process. If you have any problems, please notify me at any time.
1. Go to the SkillsUSA Registration site: http://www.skillsusa-register.org/
This will take you to the log in page.
Click the Log-in link
- Login to the site using the same e-mail and password that you used to
register your students as members.
- In the 3rd blue box of the menu bar along the top there is a box marked
"Conference Registration. Click this box.
- This page will show your school. If your student went to Nationals
last year, he/she is probably already in the system and you can click on their
initial to see if their info is still there.
However - in most cases, you will be entering a new student, so click on the
"new registrant button.
- You should now be on a blank page. Fill in all the boxes on this
page.
PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU MARK THE T-Shirt SIZE BOX AND KEEP IN MIND THESE ARE
MEN'S SIZES. DO NOT ORDER MEDIUMS FOR YOUR SMALL FEMALE CONTESTANTS
BECAUSE THEY ARE TOO BIG.
- At the bottom of this page is a button marked "Add Contest"
Once the first page is completely filled in, you may register the student for
a contest. (If there are any blanks on the first page, it won't let you
proceed to the 2nd page.) It is on this 2nd page that you register your
student for their contests.
Once you hit the save button, it will take
you back to the student's registration page. If you want to register the
student for more than one contest - scroll to the bottom, hit add contest again
and register for the second contest.
- Once you have entered all of your students, you can click on "fee summary"
and it will give you a printout of the number of students and advisors
registered and the amount owed. Please print a copy of this and send it
with a check or PO to:
Toni Decklever
1013 Logan Ave.
Cheyenne, WY 82001
Even if you are not able to send payment before March 14th, your students AND
advisors need to be registered by this date. Advisors that receive shirts,
meals and participate in other activities will need to pay the 55.00 conference
fee.
Registering for more than one contest Each advisor must complete the
membership and safety training certification form and return it with the other
registration information. This is necessary as part of liability
requirements. ONE FORM PER SCHOOL.
Each participant is encouraged to be involved in one skills contest and one
leadership or state only contest during the Conference. UNFORTUNATELY,
time does not permit a student to participate in more than ONE technical skills
contest with the exception of Health Related Contests. Health Occ.
students may enter two skills contests if schedules allow.
However, a contestant may participate in TWO Leadership Events (this includes
Team Contests). All contestants may compete in the Related Technical Math
Test, and Customer Service Contest regardless of participation in other
competitions.
Only 5 students per school may be entered in each leadership contest. For
example, if a school wants to register 20 students for leadership contests,
they could register 5 for job interview, 5 for job demo, 5 for prepared
speech, and 5 for extemp speech. No school may register all students for 1 leadership contest.
Please be sure to contact me via e-mail - skillsusawyoming@gmail.com or
phone: (307)426-4007 if you are experiencing any difficulties registering your
students.
