STATE ONLY CONTESTS

  • The High Mileage Vehicle Contest will include the following rules:
    • There will be four classes:
      • Anything Goes Class for cars usinggas, natural gas, or diesel fuel. Use any brand or size, used or new, modified or standard.
      • Stock Class– all cars use same type of engine, 3-3.5 H.P Four strokes, no modifications
      • Modified Class – Any gas engine up to 5 H.P. with modifications.
      • Electric Engine Class
    • The contest will be judged on thee areas: engineering, portfolio, and endurance.
    • The gasoline and diesel* engines will start with a dry engine, issued a set amount of fuel, and then run until it stops.
    • The electric cars will be given the same size batteries and run until they stop.
    • The scorecard and points given in each of the three areas will be determined by the Technical Committee and made available as soon as possible. *Will need to have the specific gravity of the fuel.
  • State Pin Contest
    • The purpose of this contest is to submit a design that can be used as the design for the official 2009 Wyoming SkillsUSA lapel pin.
    • The design can be any theme but must include the following information: a graphic design of the year 2009, the words Wyoming SkillsUSA and the official SkillsUSA logo.
    • The design must be submitted in both an enlarged size (8 1/2”x11”) and a reduced, 1 1/14” x1 1/4”size which will be the actual size of the pin.
    • All entries become the property of the Wyoming State Association.
SPECIAL AWARDS

  • High Chapter Award Guidelines. (STATE ONLY)
    A special award is given to competing chapters based on the following criteria.
    • Awards will be given to the two top chapters in each school category (1A, 2A, 3A, 4A) determined by the Wyoming High School Activities Association. The two top college chapters will also be chosen.
    • Basis for the scoring of this award will be on the accumulation score of placing of each chapter, (First, Second, Third) in the contests entered. First place will receive 5 points, second place 3, and third place one point. If there is a tie, then subsequent placing (4th, 5th, 6th,etc.) will be utilized as the tie breaker.
