Why is a Resume important?

Resumes are usually the first impression a potential employer has of you.  Resumes are often the most import step in the application process.They provide an opportunity for you to market yourself to your employers, outline your skills, background and education so employers can easily see your experience contributes to the success of a company, and it helps employers eliminate unqualified candidates.  A resume allows you to demonstrate your written communication skills.  Again, it is the first impression.  The goal of a resume is not to get you the job; the goal of the resume is to secure an interview.
